Style Crush: Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain

Style Crush: Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain

As the Irish Premiere of Chris Nolan‘s hotly anticipated Interstellar is just around the corner (eek!) we’ve been yapping at the kettle about Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain, the film’s fantastic female leads. Though fear not, fans of the deep southern Matthew McConaughey, as we’ll have news on him (and why we love him) later today. First though, let’s take a look at both Hathaway and Chastain, their signature style and their stand-out beauty.

Always one to divide opinion, Anne Hathaway’s career choices have been just as varied as her red carpet ensembles. Developing as quite the all-rounder, Anne’s been known to don a leather catsuit opposite Christian Bale’s Batman one minute, while the next minute, she’s wailing away her misfortunes as Fantine in Les Miserables. With her cropped pixie haircut, these days Miss Hathaway’s a far cry from her Princess Diaries debut, having carved out a name for herself as one of Hollywood’s leading female stars. If anyone’s name has star power written all over it, it’s hers.

Style wise, Anne has left her princess style dresses behind her, opting for a more sultry, figure hugging look on the red carpet these days. Below are two of our favourite looks. If it’s a lesson in the art of timeless, classic fashion, you need look no further.

Beauty-wise, there’s little Anne has to do, what with those enormous eyes and a smile that was made for the cover of a magazine. There’s few who could pull off the short pixie cut with quite the same level of ease, but for a mature, low-maintenance look that leaves us with no choice but to zoom in on your peepers, this is the cut for you.

And then we have Jessica Chastain who burst onto the radar following her turn in The Help, which earned her an Oscar nomination for an actress in a supporting role. Proving that she was so much more than a one trick pony, this red-headed starlet wowed audiences again a year later, receiving yet another Oscar nomination – this time best actress in a lead role – for her stellar performance in Zero Dark Thirty.

Representing her fellow gingers, we’ve got Jessica here to thank for making us lust after long, luscious, red locks. Channeling that old-school, classic Hollywood glamour at every opportunity, Miss Chastain epitomises elegance in every way. A guaranteed show-stopper on any red carpet, she’s proven herself as quite the fashionable force to be reckoned with. Remember that dress from the Oscars 2012?

Stepping into their slightly less glamorous outfits for their on screen counterparts in Interstellar, we’re all kinds of excited to see two of Hollywood’s most interesting female actors share the screen. Even better that they’re sandwiching the always brilliant Matthew McConaughey.

Enter our competition to win tickets to the Irish premiere over yonder.

Interstellar hits Irish cinemas on November 7th
