Meet Sizeable

This new Australian store lets you shop by body shape, earning the respect of women the world over?

We’re living in the era of disruption in the online shopping space – for reference see Nasty Gal’s self-made #GIRLBOSS Sophia Amourso, Warby Parker making Brooklyn hipster specs easily attainable at the click of a touchscreen and Rent the Runway’s move into bridal – but sometimes it’s nice to see innovations in fashion tech that are more about helping you dress than boasting about how you were on that bandwagon ever so early.

Welcome Sizeable, an Australian online shop where you shop by body shape. The site was launched last week and is already creating a buzz online with the Daily Mail propelling its profile yesterday. Founder Larrissa Thorne, a 25-year old fashion writer in Melbourne, took inspiration from her own personal style struggles and decided to go ahead with her brainwave when she found herself explaining to her birthday-gift-shopping boyfriend why certain lovely-on-the-rack dresses would not suit her. ?I find shopping online can be really demoralising sometimes. It’s left me feeling really down on my body and we want to encourage women to embrace how they look.? Thorne said to the Mail.

Models of different body shapes, all Thorne’s friends, are your entry portal to the site. You pick the woman who most closely resembles you and peruse the collection on her to your credit content. With the measurements of the models to hand you get a real idea of how that midi skirt would hang on your frame. Say goodbye to that crushing sense of disappointment when the midnight shopping binge results in a box of unwearables that need to be returned.
