The Alexa bag and Rihanna shoe – if fashion likes you they put your name on it…

I love seeing my name on things. Having those five letters printed on a mug, a notebook or a coaster fills me with an unexplainable joy so I can’t imagine what it must be like to have something truly covetable named after you. Here’s a look at a selection of shoes and bags that are all named after some of the world’s most famous women.

?

The Herm’s ?Birkin? | Jane Birkin

The Herm’s Birkin is easily the most recognisable bag in the fashion world. Jane Birkin once complained to Herm’s chief executive Jean-Louis Dumas that she couldn’t find a bag big enough to fit all of her belongings but also looks elegant and so, in 1984, the ?Birkin? was born. Jane has been carrying the iconic piece ever since.

Christian Louboutin ?The Blake? | Blake Lively

Blake and Christian are fashion BFFs so when she was in his Parisian atelier and saw this pair she said: ‘I’ve never seen anything like it? Louboutin responded ?Do you love it?? to which Blake replied ?I want to sleep with it under my pillow every night? and he said ?We’re naming it the Blake then.? Lively cites this as one of her greatest accomplishments.

Mulberry ?Alexa? | Alexa Chung

Unveiled in 2010, the Alexa satchel is the one of the most popular bags in the entire Mulberry family. Named after DJ slash model slash presenter Alexa Chung, its stock shows no sign of falling.

Sophia Webster ?The RiRi? | Rihanna

Rihanna said she was ?humbled? to have these candy coloured creations named after her. They’re not to everyone’s taste but RiRi has never been one to be sartorially subtle.

Luella ?Gisele? | Gisele Bundchen

In 2002, Luella was on the verge of bankruptcy but after supermodel Gisele carried her namesake on the runway, the bag became a must-have and saved the company. Is there anything she can’t do?
