Clooney to Wed in Armani

George Clooney wedding watch update?

George Clooney, formerly known as the world’s most eligible bachelor, will wear Armani for his upcoming nuptials with lawyer?Amal Alamuddin next month. WWD is reporting that a team from Armani set forth from Milan in recent days to visit the actor at his famous Lake Como home for a fitting. Considering Clooney’s penchant for the Italian label on the red carpet it makes sense he would stick to the tried and tested for a jaunt up the aisle to hopefully everlasting love. A fortnight ago the couple gave their wedding notice in to Chelsea Town Hall, signaling that they will marry in Italy. Needless to say expect Brad Pitt among the guests?

Clooney and Alamuddin have contended with a lot of media attention since announcing their engagement in late April. First there was the great ring hunt – it turned out to be an emerald-cut diamond. Then speculation centred on the venue with everyone’s granny asserting the party was taking place in Highclere Castle, the home of ITV’s Downton Abbey. However, the most controversial story to emerge from the wedding was the Mail Online’s assertion that Alamuddin’s Lebanese mother was opposed to the marriage on religious grounds. Clooney, rightfully incensed, publicly addressed these lies and called the website ?irresponsible?. In his statement he said that ?to exploit religious differences where none exist, is at the very least negligent and more appropriately dangerous. We have family members all over the world, and the idea that someone would inflame any part of that world for the sole reason of selling papers should be criminal.”

As for what the bride will wear? Vogue claims the human rights barrister is looking at Oscar de la Renta.
