If you’re the type of responsible consumer who wants to make a change regarding where your money ends up, then this index of the world’s most sustainable brands will be your perfect brew of tea.

Last week Toronto-based media research and investment advisory firm Corporate Knights released their annual Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World Index, which fashionista.com reports is a compilation of publicly traded companies with ?a market capitalization of at least $2 billion as of Oct. 1, 2015? and how they fare when it comes to sustainability. Basically, who performs the best, in a sustainable vein, when it comes to performance indicators such as energy productivity, employee turnover and leadership diversity.

German car brand BMW topped the list with software company Dassault Systemes in 2nd. Outotec, a Finnish construction company, was third and the Commenwealth Bank of Australia was fourth.

In fashion stakes the sportswear brand Adidas came in at number five scoring 73.1%, last year it was number three. L’Or?al was the top performer in beauty and came 14th overall. H&M placed 20th, with Marks & Spencer clocking in at 21st. The luxury group Kering, which owns Gucci and Saint Laurent, entered the list for the first time, placing 43rd. Zara and Nike did not make the list.
