The Newbridge Silverware Museum of Style Icons has launched ‘Audrey’, a new exhibition featuring one of the greatest private collections of Audrey Hepburn couture and paper memorabilia in the world.
The exhibition represents one of the greatest private collections of original Audrey Hepburn couture in existence, as well as numerous paper artefacts associated with the star. ‘Audrey’ features onscreen iconic pieces from Hepburn’s films; the Givenchy silk floral print dress worn in Funny Face, the pink Givenchy dress worn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a black beaded dress worn in Charade. From her personal wardrobe, there is an Yves Saint Laurent white gown which she wore to her son’s christening and a tweed coat worn in Luca Dotti’s book ‘Audrey In Rome’.
The exhibition also showcases an extensive paper collection, including letters from Audrey to her father who lived in Dublin from the 1960’s until his death in 1980 and 44 magazine covers from around the world.
In addition to the Audrey Hepburn exhibition, the Museum of Style Icons unveiled new additions including garments from the Kardashians, Joan Collins and the Fernanada Modas and Amelia Gray vintage gowns worn on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine in 2010 by Mad Men stars Christina Hendricks and January Jones.
Items from Kim Kardashian include a pink structured dress worn by Kim in March 2014 from London-based label, A.W.A.K.E., an oversized cream wool Chloé coat which she wore to Paris Fashion Week in 2014 and a one shouldered dress featuring an illusion beaded lace inset from Japanese born designer Tadashi Shoji, which she wore in 2009. Khloe Kardashian’s featured dress is a silk Rhode Resort maxi wrap dress in petrol blue.
