On, Friday, 22nd September, 2017?the leading lights of Dublin’s?fashion’set?joined DublinTown in The Round Room at The Mansion House to celebrate?Dublin?Fashion2017: The Collective. The event officially launched the new A/W?fashion’season by showcasing the latest trends, styles and must-buys from high-street favourites, hidden gems from Dublin’s creative quarter, and high-end retailers from across Dublin city centre.

Upon arrival to the beautiful setting of The Round Room at the Mansion House Dublin, guests were treated to delicious cocktails, aptly titled ?Dublin?Fashion?Fizz? and ?Gin & Juice?, created by drink sponsor, M?r Irish Gin. Host for the evening, Xpos? presenter, Glenda Gilson, welcomed the excited crowd and started the show off in style by introducing the highly anticipated Younger Designer of the Year?fashion’show, where 12 of Ireland’s budding?fashion’designers showcased their unique designs for all to see. Last year’s winner, JJ Donnelly, passed on the coveted title to this year’s winner Naomi Ajetunmobi of The Grafton Academy of Design. On winning the competition Naomi said ?I’m so happy! I loved creating my design and am so delighted that the judges liked it too!?

The show continued with the best in Dublin?fashion?from the high-street, with separate scenes dedicated to menswear, the Creative Quarter and high-end?fashion. This year’s show pulled out all the stops with entertainment from Dublin band, Red Empire, the Trinity College String Quartet and aerial performance artists, Aerial Circ. Dylan Bradshaw, of Dylan Bradshaw Salon, produced the hair looks for the event using the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, and shared his inspiration and a how-to on recreating the look at home. Model makeup was completed by leading makeup artists from Benefit.

CEO of DublinTown, Richard Guiney, was in?fashionable?company with?Xpos? series producer, Debbie O’Donnell, models Alannah Beirne and Brittany Mason, stylist Cathy O’Connor and illustrator Conor Merriman, all of?whom dressed to impress to watch the show, which was produced by Jules Fallon of 1st?Option.

Clyde Carroll, Director of Marketing &?Communications for?DublinTown, said: ?We decided to change things up this year for Dublin?Fashion?Festival, using the new A/W style season as inspiration to showcase all of the amazing?fashion’that the city has to offer. We are lucky that Dublin City has so much to offer to shoppers and it’s great to have a night that celebrates them and showcases just how stylish a city Dublin is.”
