Lead by top pro-choice speakers, creators, and musicians, Gals Gig for Repeal is an informative and discussion-lead event taking place tonight, in a venue on Tara Street. Hosted by EIGHT STORIES – a collective committed to telling the stories of those who support the pro-choice movement in Ireland, using street art to provoke thought and start conversations – the evening will be interspersed with spoken word performers, musical acts, Repeal artists, panel discussions, and debates. In attendance will be Ailbhe Smyth (convenor of the coalition to Repeal the 8th) and Anna Cosgrave (founder of Project Repeal). Tickets are €9 and can be bought here. This is a BYOB event.

Lúnasa 2016 takes place Friday, September 16th until tomorrow, Sunday, September 18th in Bellurgan Park, Co. Louth. The annual 3-day arts and music festival celebrates the traditional aspects of autumn such as the autumn harvest and the lunar cycles (we’re approaching a lunar eclipse very soon). This is a family friendly event with children’s entertainments, campsites and 7 stages. Activities include holistic workshops and therapies, theatre performances, a delicious variety of gourmet food, late-night forest parties, boutique camping and fancy dress, alongside 50+ Irish DJs, bands, circus performers and artists. Dublin’s Lighthouse Theatre, located in the heart of Smithfield, will hold a special outdoor screening of Roald Dahl’s classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in remembrance of the late Gene Wilder. The good people at Alchemy Juice Company are holding a chocolate demonstration this morning from 11am to 12pm at The Alchemy Juice Co store situated above the old BT2 store on Grafton Street. This intimate demo aims to teach you how to create tasty and healthy alternatives to street corner chocolate bars using raw and natural ingredients that are also suitable for vegetarians, vegans, paleo, ketogenic and are also dairy, gluten, and sugar-free. Take a leisurely stroll with the family tomorrow at the Dublin Food Co-op market in Newmarket, Dublin 8. This months market focuses on the back-to-school season with lots of local produce on offer for children, toddlers, and babies including nursery room decorations, toys, clothes, and books.
