Meet Meryl Streep, the Evil Witch

Meet Meryl Streep, the Evil Witch

Meryl Streep in In To The Woods.

At this stage in her lustrous career, Meryl Streep‘s had a go of just about everything, so it’s no surprise that she’d eventually turn her hand to playing an evil witch, and oh how fantastic (and terrifying) she’s going to be. Sure to truly traumatise kids and, well, just about every one of her fans the world over, Streep stars here in Disney’s new adaptation of Steven Sondheim’s musical, Into the Woods.

Even the poster sends chills down our spine as she lurks above a dark, ominous forest.

Meryl Streep

Boasting quite the cast, Into the Woods mixes together some of the Brothers Grimm fairytales with the story of a couple. It stars Johnny Depp as the Wolf, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as her handsome prince, while James Corden stars as a cursed baker with Emily Blunt (LOVE her) as his wife. Well that’s us sold.

On a side note, fair play to James Corden for landing a role opposite such a stellar line up, looks like a fruitful career in character acting lies before him.

Expect elements of Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel in this one too.

We’re going to go right ahead and assume that if Streep’s signed up for this one, it’s going to be hella good. Check out the trailer below.
