Attention, big kids. A Hocus Pocus sequel may well be on the cards, if Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy get their way. Yep, all three witches are ready and willing to get back on their broomsticks, and resume their fear mongering of the children of Salem.
Midler, now 68, was the one to confirm their interest during a Reddit AMA, encouraging all fans of the 1993 cult classic to ‘inundate the Disney company’ so that the Sanderson sisters may be at large once again.
It wasn’t long before SJP and Kathy took to Twitter to confirm their enthusiasm. “Hocus people, Bette says it best. Listen to your elders!,” said Kathy while Parker kept it short and sweet with “Yep I’m in.”
But what about Max, the virgin who lit the ‘black flame candle’ while at the same time stealing our tender hearts? Will he (Omri Katz), Thora Birch‘s Dani and Vinessa Shaw‘s Alison (remember, the hot one with the lovely ‘yabos’) be returning?
Could a sequel, 21 years later live up to the magic of the first film? How will the witches get on in a world where everybody’s plugged in to some digital device? Will they have a Facebook page? Obviously, the possibilities are endless. Here’s hoping, unlike the witches themselves, we won’t have to wait three centuries to find out what’s in store.
