Holy moly. We all knew Matthew Lewis, AKA the very geeky Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter film series, was the most handsome bloomer of the class of Hogwarts, but his new shoot in the June issue Attitude magazine, of which he covers, will make you blush.
Attitude shared the images yesterday and the internet has gone into hot flush mode. Sure, you may cry objectification but we’ve been eyeballing red carpet gowns at Cannes all week. A nearly naked incredibly fine looking torso is like a tall cold drink in the desert at this stage. It’s like the blanket Jamie Dornan coverage we were ‘subjected’ to last January/February. Crushes are seasonal bread crumbs.
Here’s the cover in all its glory. Right click and save.
JK Rowling, creator of fictional character Neville Longbottom who Lewis portrayed in eight films, even chimed in with a reaction.

Rowling referred to Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe’s role in the West End play Equus, in which the young star shed his boy wizard associations with a full frontal nude scene in a powerful play with a heavy equestrian theme. There were many wand jokes, but also a lot of critical endorsements. Radcliffe has since gone on to enjoy a varied career, switching between stage and screen. Last year he starred with Irish actress Sarah Greene on Broadway in The Cripple of Inishmann and his IMDB roster is a rolodex of smart indie dramedies.
How has Matthew Lewis’ post-Harry Potter career has been faring? Well, after this sexy reveal, all bets are off. Lewis has been focusing on television work with a recurring role in Bluestone 42, a comedy about an army bomb disposal unit in Afghanistan, and he has a part in upcoming movie Me Before You opposite Emilia Clarke and Sam Clafin. Me Before You is an adaptation of Jojo Moyes weepy and brilliant novel, and tells the story of a young man, played by Clafin, who undergoes a life-changing spinal injury and meets a young carer, Emilia’s part, who is his opposite in every way. It’s got box office hit written all over it, so fair play to Lewis for snagging a place on the cast.
