3 Films To See This October

DARE TO BE WILD

Screen Shot 2016-10-07 at 5.12.20 p.m.

Horticulturalist Mary Reynolds caused a sensation when she became the first Irish garden designer to win a gold medal at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2002. Her story gets the celluloid treatment with Emma Greenwell (US Shameless) portraying Mary and Tom Hughes starring as her love interest, with stunning scenes shot in Ireland and Ethiopia.

THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN

Screen Shot 2016-10-07 at 4.56.08 p.m.

In the long- awaited screen adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ bestselling novel, Emily Blunt plays divorcée Rachel Watson, whose daily commute takes her past her former home, where her ex (Justin Theroux) and his new wife now reside. When she sees something shocking, involving another couple that live on the same street, the fall-out impacts upon all their lives. Chilling and thriller-tastic.

WAR ON EVERYONE

Screen Shot 2016-10-07 at 4.55.38 p.m.

John Michael McDonagh’s film has all the makings of an instant cult classic. Alexander Skarsgård and Michael Peña are the two detectives who get involved in a million-dollar heist and hope to keep the cash for themselves, although a sense of morality does finally kick in. If you loved The Guard, you’ll also love this.

All films are in cinemas now.
