Kardashians Go Legal On Domestic Abuse Activist’s Battered And Bruised Photos

The Kardashians have found themselves in a moral pickle after an activist against domestic abuse took photos of reality TV stars Kendall and Kim without permission. As part of the campaign in question, the girls’ images were doctored to appear as though they were victims of domestic abuse, the point being that even those who seem to have it all can suffer behind closed doors. Though AleXsandra Palombo’s actions are very much against copyright laws, it’s a pretty brave PR move that, as we’re proving by writing this article, will garner worldwide attention. Will the awareness raised for such an important issue be worth it for the price of a solicitor’s telling off?

On one hand the Kardashian/Jenner family would be right to sue the activist for his actions. Otherwise they’d become fair game for anyone in the world with a message that needs instant coverage. It’s not right, and though they may parade themselves all over the internet (Kylie ‘broke’ it again just yesterday), they are not other people’s property. At the same time, the famous family are treading carefully as they don’t want to come across as though they are not supportive of such a project, and suffer unwarranted backlash. Hence, their legal team have decided to simply issue a warning on this occasion. TMZ report that while the girls have openly backed the anti-violence cause, they also believe they should have the right to choose whether or not their images and likenesses, which are worth an insane amount of money, are used. And we’d have to agree.

Along with the shocking images of Kim and Kendall with split lips and black eyes, came the messages ‘No woman is immune from domestic violence’ and ‘Life can be a fairytale if you break the silence’. Palombo has made the claim that these images are commercially available paparazzi shots and, therefore, free for the taking. He released the images – that soon went viral – as a way of marking the International Day for Elimination of Violence on November 25th. Palombo is fast making a name for himself on account of his bold but well-meaning actions, among which doctored images of Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Angelina Jolie and Emma Watson are also included.

What do you think; is it fair?
