6 Nail Art Looks We Loved At NYFW

Manicures are no longer the finishing touch to a killer look at Fashion Week; nail art is in a league all by itself with polish adding colour, texture and flair to an outfit.

As?backstage?nail artists push their creative boundaries, manicures are reclaiming the limelight?- they are now tiny pieces of fashion art in their own right. While not every look is the most wearable, you can take inspiration from them in any way you see fit. Perhaps you want to tone down your nails, but still be on trend? Or you want to introduce bold, bright colours when a classic mani just won’t do? NYFW had us feeling waves of serious nail art envy, so why not take a look at some of our favourites spotted backstage?before your next trip to the salon:

The simple ‘M’ shapes drawn delicately across the nails at the Seen Around show add a twist to a nude nail.

If you’re looking for a subtle way to introduce three colours to your nail, this is the way to do it.

At Cushnie et Ochs, the french manicure was reimagined: half the tip was black and half was a dark plum shade.

Tome’s metallic mani is simple, yet effective. A swipe of metallic charcoal grey?cross the tips and a single dot of silver polish a few millimetres above the cuticle and you’re done.

The miniature rings add texture to this rose pink shade. If rings aren’t for you, a few dots of diamonds will also work.
