3 Products To Buy From The Beauty Brand Condemning Trump

3 Products To Buy From The Beauty Brand Condemning Trump

Plenty of brands have challenged Trump since his presidency began, but now one brand has decided to go beyond words of t-shirt protest and directly denounce his actions. In the first politically oriented business move for a beauty brand, Illamasqua has pledged not to sell their products to Trump supporters or those that support his policies. If you support Trump, the brand said they would rather you didn’t buy any of their products. In an open letter, the brand indicated that to buy their products and be part of their community, customers must sign an “anti-fascism pledge”. ?Illamasqua believe in the freedom of expression, equality and diversity. That’s why we are horrified by President Trump’s actions to date. We refuse to remain silent while extreme right-wing populism gains momentum – wherever it is happening,? they said in a statement.

Agreeing with their pledge means that you vow, among other things, to never discriminate against race, colour, nationality, ethnicity, age, or sexual orientation. Don’t agree? Well, the company asks in that case that you please step away from the lipstick.

“We know that we can’t physically stop people buying our makeup, and it’s unethical to force people to change their beliefs, so we are politely asking those who don’t agree with our Human Fundamentalism pledge to stop buying our products,” a rep for the brand told us today. “We understand that we may lose customers and fans from this statement; however we strongly feel the need to always prioritise human rights over profits.”

We love to see a company prioritise?its people over profits and as such will be helping the cause by adding more of their stash to our makeup bags. Sadly, Illamasqua can’t be bought in a store here in Ireland but you can shop online. If you’ve yet to start using products from this amazing brand, here are three you should try first:

Skin Base Foundation, ?38.95?

123720000099

This is a true HD foundation. It doesn’t move once applied and this shade (02), is for pink tones while 03 is more yellow-based, so you’ll be one or the other depending. This has been a favourite of mine for years and one tube should last well over a year. Be sure to moisturise?properly prior to application and use only a dot to cover the full face with a blender – a little goes a long way with this one.

Glamore Lipstick in Rose Pout, ?23.95

With an incredibly hydrating formula, the Glamore lipsticks give Illamasqua’s signature colour intensity whilst?leaving lips silky smooth. ‘Rose Pout’ is a perfect daytime shade.

Cream Blusher in Promise, ?26.95

Their blushers are real gems; particularly cream variety. They stay on all day, have a really natural and buildable coverage and gives a dewy glow without ever looking oily. ‘Promise’ looks like quite a heavy pink, but even a small dab leaves your cheeks perfectly rosy.
