BEAUTY AWARDS

The sun is beating down on us and there’s not a cloud in the sky, which can only mean that we are almost at the end of the marathon that has been the Beauty Awards 2011. Huge amounts of work have gone into making sure that we have the crème de la crème of beauty products in our spread this year, so you can beautify yourself with only the finest. Nominations for the awards began way before Christmas, and the products (by the bucketful) started rolling into the IMAGE offices shortly thereafter. Attention then turned to selecting our expert panel – we had quite the stellar line up this year from renowned skin expert Anastasia Achilleos who nipped over from London for the judging, to make-up artist extraordinaire Christine Lucginano, to hair guru John Cheese. After the awful month-long job of testing all these amazing products, our sixteen judges descended on the Dylan Hotel for our judging day – a  long day of discussion and debate resulting in the beauty bounty that is our May issue. We’ll definitely need some of the winners to cover up our bags … but pain, as they say, is beauty!
