Watch: IKEA Are Helping Couples Get Married Online

IKEA has just made itself even more intrinsic to modern living with their new Wedding Online service that enables loved up couples to get married via webcam.

Users go to the site and can invite friends and family to view their nuptials from their bed/kitchen table/couch. You can pick a theme for your virtual wedding – like a forest or on a boat – without worrying about beach props and paper bags for your wedding favours. It saves money, and time. Salmon or beef? No one’s hungry on the internet! As IKEA says, ?Love should be easy.?

Gotcha.

Wedding Online is just an elaborate ad campaign showcasing all of IKEA’s products with a bridal twist. However, getting married online isn’t part of the prank. In Sweden, it is possible to become an officially married couple using the internet. IKEA even link to the site that can help. You need to have you and your partner in the same room as two witnesses, a laptop and an officiator.

What do we all make of that?
