Date Shorter Men

By Lauren Heskin
30th Aug 2014

You’re missing out on a lot of statiscally backed perks lusting after mister tall, dark and handsome…

Sheryl Sandberg, author of Lean In and accomplisher of many things, says that ?the most important career choice you’ll make is who you marry.? Her next best-selling nugget of advice to professional women with professional ambitions might well be ?look down? once she hears about the preliminary study that says shorter men make better partners. The NYU and University of Michigan paper,?that thr New Republic had a thorough look at,?found that shorter men are more likely to do a greater share of housework than other men, earn more of the household income and are less likely to divorce.

Liam Hemsworth, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson of the Hunger Games convincing young ones that sometimes the shorter guy is possibly Your One True Love.

The data in question looked at over 3000 couples and measured short as 5?6?? in the 1986 date sets and 5?7?? in a more recent context. Tall guys were measured to be 6?1?? and 6?2?? respectively. In the sad news part of the study short guys were actually less likely to marry in general than men of average and taller height. Also women viewed them as ?less masculine? according to Abigail Weitzman, a PhD candidate involved with the study. ?Women who have traditional gender ideals may find that less desirable,? Weitzman added.

However shorter gentlemen have greater staying power, in the official sense at least. They have a 32% lower divorce rate in comparison with the 5?8?? males of this world. Cute celebrities working the 5’7” and under look include James McEvoy, Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Stewart.

And if you’re a gal who likes short guys? Weitzman says, ?There’s something distinct about the women who marry short men.? Okay then.
