Cara and Selena Keep Inking

Cara and Selena Keep Inking

Despite the demand for tattoo removal having surged by 440% in the US alone, young starlets continue to ink themselves. This week saw Selena Gomez debut a new tattoo on Instagram. The words ?Love Yourself First? are translated into Arabic and are just below her shoulders. What with Selena enjoying a tumultuous relationship with Justin Bieber we’re going to psychoanalyse this to mean a multitude of things.

Gomez has a few tattoos but never before has her decision to ink attracted such attention. We’re putting this down to her tattoo artist Keith McCurdy, AKA Bang Bang and one of the best known in the business. Bang Bang’s roster of clients also includes Cara Delevingne, whose tattoos attract acclaim and censure in equal measure. While the supermodel is hailed for her no-holds barred individuality, her agency has apparently requested she refrain from more body art.

Cara obviously did not take that advice on board after debuting the words ?Breathe deep? across her bicep in white ink – it will become more pronounced when she’s tanned. What with her landing every high profile campaign going – she was announced as the face of Chanel earlier this month – perhaps she’s dead right to keep true to herself.

What do you think of the deep and meaningful tattoo trend? Would you go under the needle?
