Dublin Cocktail Festival Kicks Off

Candlelight bar in Dundrum's Serendipitous Swizzle, created by Darren Geraghty.

Last week we were thirsty as heck watching our brother and sisters across the Irish Sea lapping up the London Cocktail Festival, which fashionable raged across England’s capital. The hashtag was enough to make one think about emigrating, but then we thought surely Dublin could put on its own festival? After all, an amazing Saturday night in Baile Atha Cliath? Bar hopping with instagrammable concoctions semi-permanently attached to your arm.

Cocktail.

Our pleas for a cocktail festival were answered swiftly after a Twitter follower pointed out that Great Irish Beverages were on the ball, with the Dublin Cocktail Festival kicking off today. The festival is the first of its kind here – celebrating local cocktail bars and mixologists. The Festival runs until Saturday with different venues on board. Some of the amazing haunts involved include 37 Dawson St, 777, Brasserie 66, Coppinger Row, Drury Buildings, Fade Street Social, House, Lillie’s Bordello, Saba, The Liquor Rooms, The Marker Hotel, Vintage Cocktail?Club and Yamamori, amongst many others. Each participating bar is offering a signature drink at a 30% discount which customers can avail of with a wristband across all the venues costing €5. That might be a difficult accessory to explain to managment in the morning, so we to suggest long sleeves for the week.

Have a look at the festival menu in the video below and join in the conversation on Twitter with #dublincocktailfest.
