Paris Couture Week So Far

Paris Couture Week So Far

As Paris Couture Week continues we look at the Spring/Summer 2015 collections making our fashion hearts beat.

There are many words for Versace‘s Spring/Summer 2015 collection, but the one that won’t stop tripping off our tongues is sexy. Just when cutaways were starting to bore us (Dear Highstreet, please stop trying to make that space beneath the ribs and above the hips happen), Donatella make us all want to dress like the Bond girl who survives the final act. We may have built an altar to Jourdan Dunn…

Giambattista Valli evoked mid-century midnight glamour. Ultra-feminine silhouettes – think nipped waists and midi skirts – walked alongside dramatic diaphanous cloaks in frilly candy hues. Magical.

Christian Dior‘s Raf Simons efforts were channelling the 1970s aesthetic that has been making a powerful return these past two seasons. Hemlines are up, catsuits are back, and the colour green is not the enemy. We particularly loved the transparent print coats and the nods to Dior’s new look when it came to evening gowns.
